Summer Camps Making a Difference!
The Make A Difference summer camps in July and August were full to capacity! This summer, camps were held at Fortis Academy in Great Barr and Holyhead School in Handsworth. The growing popularity of the camps is testament to the value of the programme and the hard work and dedication of the delivery teams. As always, this summer’s camps featured a brilliant range of activities including basketball, benchball, badminton and football. The young people were also able to enjoy a free hot meal and art and craft activities. The camps continue to be a fantastic opportunity for young people to come together, get active and have fun! Sport Birmingham’s MAD camp delivery is funded through Streegames and Bring it on Brum, and is part of the government's HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) programme.

Celebrating Women and Girls Cricket
Mel and Uzma from the Sport Birmingham team were invited to attend a day at the cricket earlier this month. The day was focused on Women and Girls Cricket and the work that is being done to get women and girls involved in physical activity through the game. Adam and Ben, also from Sport Birmingham, have been involved in developing a Women and Girls cricket network within Birmingham.
It was a lovely day where Mel and Uzma were hosted in the Chair's Lounge and were able to watch the Birmingham Pheonix Men's and Women's Team play. They were delighted to meet cricket legend Moeen Ali and to connect with Jess Ward who leads the Women and Girls projects at Edgbaston Cricket Foundation.
