Pedal for Paris is an eight-day bike ride from Manchester to Paris in July 2024, to promote green action and innovation ahead of the Olympic Games in the French capital. It's being led by Sport England chair Chris Boardman and aims to galvanise the sport and physical activity sector to step up its work in tackling climate change. To coincide with the ride, every club and community group in England is invited to sign the Going for Green Pledge to become more sustainable. Add your organisation's name to the pledge here.

Skills360 Supporting the SectorLast month, the Sport Birmingham team hosted a Skills360 community event at Austin Court in Birmingham. Local community organisations were invited to find out more about the platform and the ways in which the team can help them achieve their ambitions. School Games 3x3 Basketball Earlier this month Sport Birmingham, Birmingham School Games and City of Birmingham Rockets collaborated to deliver a hugely successful 3x3 Basketball Event. The event held at Nechells Wellbeing Centre was an opportunity for schools to come together and compete in this increasingly popular form of basketball.
Pupils from 16 secondary schools across Birmingham displayed impressive basketball skills, with the event featuring fast paced, action packed matches. Funding and Training Update Support for Physical Activity Projects for People with Parkinson's Parkinson's UK are offering grants to help people with Parkinson's to get and stay active. Grants of up to £3,000 are available to support physical activity projects for people with Parkinson's all over the UK. For more information and to apply click here.Barclays Community Football Fund You can apply for an access grant of £1000 to support delivery of your football activities to engage with young people from underrepresented groups. The next funding round for applicants opens on Monday 15th July. For more information and to apply click here.The Peter Harrison Foundation Grants are offered for sport and physical activity at a grassroots level that enables people across the UK who are physically, mentally, socially or economically disadvantaged to develop personal and life skills to fulfil their potential. For more information, application criteria and to apply click here.The Field Family Charitable Trust Grants are given to registered local charities operating in the West Midlands and London within the boundaries of the M25. Grants range from £1,000 to £5,000 according to the need and the project. Multi-year funding is also considered. The Trustees’ interests lie with projects related to vulnerable young people between the ages of 13-25 and the elderly. The Trustees meet twice a year to consider applications for funding, in April and October.
